SUN SHINES ON STALLION PARADE

Ulster’s top Clydesdale males were again on Show at Kilrea Market on Saturday past. The Judge for the day was Matthew Carrick, from the well known Littleward Stud, Kippen. From the four Stallions forward to compete for the two Clydesdale Horse Society Premiums, the judge chose Carnaff Ambassador, from Danny and Michael McKay, Dervock and Glebeview Sir Charles owned by Victor and Raymond Scott, Limavady.
The show of younger colts and geldings followed the Stallion Parade. The judges choice as Overall Champion came from Tommy McAleese, this was the yearling colt Collessie Carousel, his sire being former Cawdor Cup winner Roeshall Calypso. The Reserve Champion came from the two year old colt class, this was the home bred Cloghan Denver Lad exhibited by Gordon Smyth, Limavady, his sire being the well known Doura High Spirit.
